The Position: Product Manager - Adventure

Job Title: Product Manager, Adventure

Department: Marketing, in conjunction with Sales and Engineering

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Summary

The product manager is responsible for coordinating product development and marketing activities for our line of adventure devices, including the QUICKjump and FlightLine Free Fall devices, LightSpeed zip line trolleys, and zipSTOP zip line brake, plus any other additional product lines as they are developed. The product manager takes the lead on gathering competitive information, identifying market opportunities, and ensures that product development and marketing efforts meet targets and are on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Working with the director of sales and marketing, the product manager will:

o   Evaluate current performance of existing product lines in the market with a full SWOT analysis

o   Help measure and establish TAM (Total Available Market)

o   Identify, measure and track market penetration and overall competitive landscape

o   Identify new market opportunities

o   Prepare forecasts and analyze data to evaluate success of product goals

 
Working with the marketing manager, the product manager will:

o   Provide strategic intelligence for SEO and PPC campaigns

o   Help develop buyer personas for better message targeting

o   Help develop relevant marketing campaigns to further product goals

o   Assist with tradeshows and trade show planning and organization

o   Examine campaigns for return on investment and identify positive financial outcomes to increase profitability

o   Update sales guides using information from sales team and competitors

 
General responsibilities:

o   Plan, organize and direct all activities relevant to project goals and objectives

o   Develop project timetable and manage stakeholders to keep projects on schedule

o   Track key indicators and metrics and provides reports to relevant department managers

o   Improve process efficiency by aligning project objectives and action items

o   Engage in project-related tasks as necessary

o   Stay up to date and evaluate current economic conditions that may affect the organization's ability to sell its products or services in the marketplace

o   Actively represent the company in targeted industry associations

o   Seek out opportunities for speaking opportunities at tradeshows and events


Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in the zip line, adventure, or outdoor industry strongly preferred
  • Performance and organization: Highly self-motivated, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Collaboration:  Able to build constructive and effective relationships with team members and business partners
  • Problem solving & decision-making:  Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
  • Analytic skills:  Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Financial and business acumen:  Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communications skills, along with strong listening skills; can present ideas and directions that lead others to action

Requirements

  • Prefer a bachelor's degree in business-related field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or Operations
  • Must be comfortable at height with recreational activities and installations (i.e. zip lines, jump towers, etc.)
  • PC proficient
  • Willing to travel up to 25%
