Job Description & Requirements

Our Manhattan, Montana facility is seeking  Machine Set Up Tech 1 to add to our team. The Machine Set Up Tech 1 is responsible for but not limited to:  

Under supervision, technician will be responsible for basic injection molding procedures; tear down and set of equipment, mold maintenance, troubleshooting production processing problems and equipment malfunctions.  Technician will have mechanical aptitude and computer skills, ability to prioritize, be quality conscious, perform tasks expeditiously, meet company defined standards, and continuously develop skills in injection molding production. 

Job Requirements:

• Teardown/set up mold and auxiliary equipment
• Start up molds using production set points
• Troubleshoot production processing problems
• Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment problems
• Train machine attendants
• Responsible for adherence to Quality Specifications for all products.
• Be proactive with shift safety
• Basic mold maintenance
• Take and pass injection molding training courses as required
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Job Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months at Vista Outdoor Blackhawk(internal)
• No disciplinary action at Written Warning level or above in past 12 months (internal)
• Mechanical trouble shooting experience
• Works in a fast pace, high change environment with limited supervision
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Mold Tech Assessment completed with minimum score attained
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others
• Possess leadership skills and ability to be led in a manner that supports our positive and productive work environment
• Follow FIFO directives and puts and utilizes experience for good judgement when decision making to accomplish goals and tasks
• Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and read English
• Ability to work under pressure and still accomplish tasks as needed with good quality
• Customer service minded
• Demonstrated Initiative, self starter
• Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills
• Demonstrated good decision making and judgement skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high energy level
• Demonstrated usage of 5S
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within mold making

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in Injection molding
• Tool and Die/Mold Making experience
• PLC programming experience.
• Participation in CI implementations such Kaizen Card submissions or implementations
• Familiarity and usage of Lean Manufacturing Principles
