TLS Educator


Summary

Educators are essential to the function of The Leadership School. They support the facilitation for all school year programs and are the primary supporters of TLS. They must work diligently to learn our EASEL curriculum and become comfortable facilitating with a wide range of participants. Educators are provided campus housing in order to be the primary supervisors of all Residential programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, significant youth facilitation and/or outdoor education experience, and demonstrated ability to work with youth in a variety of settings.


Responsible to: TLS Director

 

Primary Responsibilities

TLS

Responsible for program implementation and proactively seeking ways to empower and teach the students and teachers we work with. Model professionalism and collegiality, always demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow as a teacher. Serve as an Educator-in-Residence and support all facilitated programs as necessary. Secure a Level 1 Challenge Course certification and complete other trainings as needed.


Retreats, Events, Rentals 

Support the facilitation of Retreats, Events, and Rentals as needed, providing Level 1 support when appropriate. Be flexible to support a wide range of clients, ensuring each program is run as exceptionally as our school and summer camps.


Summer Camps

Option to serve in whatever capacity is needed. Typically this will be in a Head Bunk Counselor position, but could be as an Assistant Director. Live on campus to be a role model for summer camp staff and to be fully engaged in the life of camp.

  

Advancement & Communications

Prepared to represent KWE in a variety of ways, ranging from networking for TLS or summer camp staff to presenting at or attending professional conferences. Encouraged to proactively seek out local and national professional development opportunities that support personal growth and the further advancement of our mission.
