Job Description & Requirements

Primary Function:

Work to build high-end precision guns while using attention to detail and the ability to problem solve and adapt.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

·         Strictly adhere to Kaspar Outdoors Safety guidelines

·         Perform the start to finish assembly, function testing, and packaging of Horizon Core and Horizon Select Series or any other series of firearm as needed

·         Making sure products are produced on time and are of superior quality

·         Shop maintenance / Basic housekeeping and organization of designated workspaces

·         Assembly of small components

·         Hands-on work with firearms

·         Assist Inventory Control with parts accountability

·         Coordinate with warehouse admin for shipping firearms out to manufacturer

·         Maintains and conducts all aspects of vault operations, security and documentation of sensitive items, and applicable regulations

·         Perform physical firearm count for gunsmithing Bound Book

·         Travel up to 10% may be required

·         All other duties assigned by management

·         Provide continuous updates for Job order status to Customer Service and leadership

·         Complete daily checklist and Lean Daily Management board updates

·         Willingness to grow in knowledge and skill under the direction of a mentor

·         Competent and thorough when completing tasks and managing time

·         Must be extremely detailed oriented

·         Operate the engraver to engrave ATF required information or any custom stenciling on all Horizon Firearms

·         Must possess mechanical competency of firearm schematics and be able to use them to disassemble and reassemble firearms without supervision or direction

·         Stock modification, bedding, woodworking and finishing.

·         Uses hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments and jigs and alignment devices in manufacturing, repairs, modifications and adjustments

·         Perform daily scheduled maintenance on designated equipment

·         Bead blast and paint barreled actions and warranty repair items as needed

·         Ability to build and paint rifles - Application of KG, Durakote, Cerakote on production and custom rifles

Qualifications:

·         High school graduate or GED

·         Professional Gunsmith or Armorer’s Certifications preferred

·         General knowledge of the firearms industry and latest technology within the industry

·         High level of respect for firearms safety

·         Mechanically inclined with good manual capabilities and common sense

·         Appreciation for the aesthetic and artistic aspect of unique custom firearms

·         Background in firearms and interest in the industry and the outdoors preferred

·         Must agree to and sign non-compete and non-disclosure agreements

·         Ability to lift 50 lbs.

·         Must possess 5 year driving record with clear history for the past three years

 

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Standing, walking and sitting required up to 10 hours per day (67-100%)

·         Hand and foot usage required up to 10 hours per day (67-100%)

·         Climbing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and twisting required occasionally (33-66%)

·         Frequent lifting and moving up to 50+ pounds (0-33%)

 

Work Environment (This position requires that the employee be able to work in and around the following elements):

·         Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions

·         Loud Environments

·         Extreme heat or cold (weather-related)

·         Wet or humid conditions (weather-related)

·         Fumes from equipment or airborne particles
