Founded in 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah by Dimitrije Milovich, Winterstick began as the original snowsurf company, building innovative backcountry focused powder shapes years before anyone else. The iconic Swallowtail? endures as the best powder shape in the world. The West Mountain Factory opened in 2016 on Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine to reassert full control of our manufacturing process. West Mountain Ski Company was started in 2018 out of the same factory to produce high quality custom skis. We are committed to using domestically sourced wood to build our own cores, sidewalls and unique veneer top sheets. We design and build every snowboard and ski in the USA and we are dedicated to deliver a product that is beautifully crafted and ready to ride out of the box.
