Company Description

The primary responsibility of the Category Sales Manager is to manage the categories of AQUATICS, SEA-SCOOTERS, POOL PLAY AND ACCESSORIES, KIDS LEARN TO SWIM, SNOW PLAY, and FLUID BRANDED WATER ITEMS through accounts consisting of mass retailers, major sporting goods accounts, pool distributors as well as Marine/Boat Distributors. This includes building relationships with account management to grow sales and to meet the business plan. Grow territory via active prospecting and soliciting of new accounts, so as to grow, not impede upon, existing account base. Participate as active member of sales team, including group meetings/phone calls, sales meetings, and regional shows as requested/needed. These expectations, as outlined, pertain to all brands distributed by Sport Dimension, Inc. This position will be based in our CARSON, CA office reporting to the PRESIDENT. Essential Functions of the Job: - Plan/execute annual shipment goal(s) to ensure that sales efforts reflect needs of corporate sales plan, as well as that of the individual - Communicate with customers regularly to ensure proper sell in, inventory levels, and sell through. Maintain relationships at all levels, and ensure superior customer service. - Prospect, research and solicit new businesses. - Communicate monthly/weekly schedule and business updates to the President. - Perform necessary sales support functions (clinics, trade shows, marketing promos) as needed. Position Requirements/Qualifications: - College/university degree is preferred. - Wholesale sales experience a must, sporting goods wholesale/retail sales experience a plus but not required. - Ability to lift sample bags of 50 pounds. - Ability to travel 50-60%, schedule flexibility. - Skills required: sales/retail math, forecasting, negotiation, time management, excellent verbal and written communication - Proficient in computer usage with Microsoft word and excel
