It all started in 1982, on the pier of the north end of Canandaigua Lake - the fourth largest Finger Lake. Led by the passion of two windsurfers, Steve Howie and Eric Ludeman turned their dream into reality and opened the first windsurf rental and lesson shop in Canandaigua. Steve, a windsurfing fanatic and the founding owner, created a shop like no other that brought the community together by giving all individuals the opportunity to get out on the water. Over the years, the shop transformed to encompass the evolution of popular watersports, expanding into kayaking, paddle boarding, diving, and more. One thing that’s never changed–the inclusive community focus. Whether it’s picking up Kershaw Park or donating our time to teach people new to the sport.
