Job Description & Requirements
SOAR, Inc. is looking for a dependable individual who has the desire to do excellent work with integrity and to support SOAR’s nonprofit mission by acting as the Admissions Director. They will work closely with the Director of Business, Registrar and other Admin Team members to create a smooth application and enrollment experience for families. This person needs great customer service and people skills, plus good organizational skills. Interest in the outdoors – a plus!
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum age: 25
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Must have multiple years of experience in sales and customer service
Must have experience working with youth, young adults, and families; preferably those with ADHD or LD
Desired Experience
Knowledge list:
knowledge of school admissions processes; knowledge of sales processes; knowledge of lead development; knowledge of admissions resources; knowledge of ADHD, LD and other diagnoses
Skills list:
mastery of communication, planning, and organizational skills; problem solving skills; must know how to use MS and GSuite (word, excel, sheets, docs, etc.); experience in Outdoor Education, Recreation Management, or outdoor industry is a plus.

Administrative & Organizational Operations

Consult with DBO regarding Admissions goals and strategy

Enroll Academy, GAP, and Summer Programs
-
Understanding of and ability to learn a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System
-
Oversee inquiry process, including response, tracking, conversion, etc.

Maintain communication with Educational Consultants (Ed Cons) re: enrollment, student updates, course information, etc. Send eval/student materials at end of course when authorized by parents

Maintain and update professional contacts database
-
Mail thank you cards to all referral sources

Maintain parent reference list
-
Conduct and coordinate on location tours for families, Ed Cons, and other interested parties

Attend conferences and fairs (IECA, SBSA, Gap Fairs, Camp Fairs, etc.)

Process student applications using Admissions guidelines

Send acceptance notification to all approved students

Manage scholarship fund - collect and review financial aid applications, award scholarships

Respond to all parents who submit evaluations

Participate in alumni follow-up calls

Coordinate Open House events

Conduct additional recruitment efforts as needed (create call lists, forge relationships, events, etc.)

Assist in summer registration days as a member of the Administrative Team

Take lead as Meet & Greet during Academy and GAP registration days

Coordinate with Academy Director regarding Academy Enrollment / grouping

SOAR is an accredited ADHD Outdoor Adventure Summer Camp, Boarding School, and GAP Year Program. We serve youth and young adults with ADHD and other Learning Disabilities in North Carolina, Wyoming, Florida, and internationally! Our outdoor adventure based programs provide academic instruction, experiential education, and life skills development for youth and young adults ages 8-25. Created in 1977 by an adult with learning disabilities, SOAR provides fun and successful outdoor experiences so that participants may gain greater awareness of their own strengths and improve self-esteem and confidence.
