Job Description & Requirements

Position Description: Executive Director

Organizational Background: Founded in 1989, the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to building, maintaining, and advocating for sustainable single-track trails and developmental features in the Colorado Plateau region of western Colorado. COPMOBA is governed by an appointed board of directors from local communities in western Colorado and is funded by individual and business membership fees, donations, and grants. The organization currently has four chapters that work with members and volunteers in cooperation with multiple Federal and State agencies, counties, and municipalities to build and maintain single-track trails in western Colorado.  This work includes active participation and leadership with multiple Federal land management agencies and the State of Colorado.

From the humble beginnings of creating the Kokopelli, Tabeguache, and Paradox Trail system and the Lunch Loop trail network in Grand Junction, to more recent accomplishments such as the RAT Trails Network in Ridgway, and the soon to open Palisade Plunge Trail, COPMOBA has persistently worked to expand and improve the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. To fulfill this mission, the organization works to build community, advocate for trail access, and provide volunteer stewardship in close partnership with local land management agencies.  In 2009, this history of work was recognized when COPMOBA was inducted into the Mountain Biking Hall of Fame, one of the first organizations recognized for its pioneering work and results in mountain bike trail advocacy.
