  • Strategize and plan the overall human centered design approach and align execution.
  • Apply excellent UX know-how and experience to analyze user and content requirements, define user flow and information structure, and describe intended user experience through means such as storyboards, experience maps, app/site maps, interactive wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Gather design insights by interpreting user research such as interviews, competitive audits, contextual inquiry, concept testing, and usability testing.
  • Form product vision and help iFixit make tough, informed decisions to define MVP and product requirements.
  • Design interaction diagrams, flows, and digital experiences.
  • Excel at the prototyping process, moving quickly from white-boarding to paper to digital and interactive. Can immediately identify the appropriate level of fidelity needed to execute a proof of concept.
  • Develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts, using creative approach
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, stylists, executives and other stakeholders

Graphic UX Designer requirements are:

  • 5+ years of industry experience with a focus on digital product design, possessing solid capabilities in both user experience and user interface disciplines across a variety of platforms including web, mobile web and native apps (iOS and Android).

    • Highly skilled in Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools.

    • Can create visual design systems for digital products, including typographic rules, visual hierarchy, color palettes, grid definitions, icons, implementation guides, interaction patterns, and components libraries.
    • Develop detailed design specs and work closely with the development team to guide the implementation of design specifications
    • Strong interaction, communication and presentation skills

    • BS or MS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or a Visual Arts subject

    About iFixit

iFixit is a global community of people helping each other repair things. We believe that repair reduces e-waste, saves people money, and teaches engineering. Fixers from all over the world have helped us write thousands of repair manuals for everything from cellphones to appliances to clothing. Why do we do it? Because most companies—even those that make great products—don’t provide repair parts or repair documentation. Too often, people don’t have the means to repair their broken stuff and needlessly buy new things. We want to stand up against the throwaway culture. Everyone should have the right to maintain and fix what they own. And we need everyone's help to do so.
