Job Description:
Grizzly Outfitters is a locally owned shop that has been operating in Big Sky, MT since 1994. Our primary mission is to SELL FUN! Our business specializes in many areas of the outdoor world including, skiing, fly fishing, cycling, backpacking, camping, running, rental, repair, and anything else outdoor related in the state of Montana.
The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the retail sector of Grizzly Outfitters. A general knowledge of the outdoor industry is a plus; however, the right candidate will possess a strong retail mindset. Primarily, your goal will be to construct your team and lead them with a positive outcome. This includes training new staff on all procedures and how to sell/ interact with customers, scheduling meetings with buyers to address needs and wants for specific products, creating sales goals for the staff to carry out, and creating a culture that provides assistance to customers in a professional, but personable manner.
With time, experience and growth, our hope is that the Sales Manager will come to the point of being the number two in the shop. Working with the General to help build Grizzly Outfitters for the future, and to maintain the grass roots culture we will always hold. This is not a seasonal position and we want the candidate to be here for the foreseeable future. This position will open up many possibilities and we want the person to be able to contribute and grow this company with confidence.
Responsibilities:
Train new staff on all procedures
-POS
-Fielding phone calls
-Greeting customers
-Everyday chores

Lead retail team to drive sales with confidence
Track sales reports and build goals for team and individuals
Schedule meetings with retail crew/individual members to discuss performance as well as gather their input
Keep retail crew moving and talking to customers on the floor
Delegate the restock of the floor as well as backstock areas
Coordinate bi-annual inventory counts
Coordinate and meet frequently with Buyers to talk about trends, product that is low on stock, and how sales are moving
Coordinate with Buyers and retail staff for receiving and checking in inventory.
Assist the General Manager in hiring for all sectors of Grizzly Outfitters including retail, rental and repair
Assist the General Manager in marketing meetings and contribute ideas about future growth and expansion for Grizzly Outfitters
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum 3 years retail management/ supervisor experience (Outdoor retail not required, but a plus)
Able to assist with difficult customer interactions and turn them into positive experiences
Leadership mentality
Professional demeanor
Ability to adapt and learn
Flexible schedule (Major holidays are our busiest times. No exceptions)
Able to stand 8+ hours
Strong knowledge of computers and tech
Confidence to complete a project from start to finish
Scheduling knowledge
