Cascade Bicycle Studio (CBS) is a high-end fit studio serving a clientele with high expectations. CBS is a sales organization operating in a very competitive market, continuing to drive sales through proactive efforts and to continually ensure CBS utilizes leading edge tools, technology, and product offerings in conjunction with the absolute best customer service. 

 

The primary role of the CBS General Manager is to oversee the operation of the store including people, financials, and operations.  The general manager will be responsible for the P&L of the studio.  This role is client facing and upholds the community, service, brand, and performance standards for CBS.  The General Manager will report to the Managing Member for Grupetto Partners LLC.

 

The GM is primarily responsible for, but limited to the following: 

  • Profit and Loss of the studio, including:
    • Revenue:
      • Revenue performance of service department 
      • Partnering with the Head of Sales on product and fit related revenue performance
      • Leveraging eBay presence to sell down unwanted inventory 
    • Expense:
      • Purchasing and inventory management
      • Hiring, staff performance, and compensation expense
      • Expenses related to space, tools, fixtures, etc..
  • People Management
    • Manages staff schedule and all HR needs (e.g. benefits, leave, etc.)
    • Leads weekly staff meetings 
    • Keeps staff accountable for adhering to process 
    • Quarterly staff reviews 
  • Provides bi-weekly store performance report to ownership team, including on the following topics:
    • Inventory 
    • Service department performance
    • Sales backlog reports
  • Partner management
    • Partnering with Head of Sales and Custom Cycling on management of “key” supplier including bike manufacturers, clothing suppliers, and component manufactruers
    • Partnering with Service Manager on management of service-related suppliers for consumables, parts, and small goods (e.g. computers, lights, fenders, etc.)


Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role
  • At least 5 years of prior operational or financial management and leadership roles
  • At least 10 years of prior working experience in the retail industry – at the store level
  • Ideal candidate would have prior experience in the cycling industry – at the store level.  Minimally a personal passion for cycling and experience as a cyclist.
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
