Okuma Fishing Tackle has an immediate opening for a Regional Sales Manager in Ontario, California. Are you an expert in handling end-to-end Sales activities with a focus on maintaining, enhancing and advancing the organization's goals and priorities?
We are looking for a Inside Regional Sales Manager who is a team player who becomes the trusted partner of both the company executives and employees on issues regarding customers, deliveries, and sales. This position is a hybrid position, candidate must reside in California. No remote oppurtunies available for this position.
Okuma Fishing Tackle is an international manufacturer and distributor of a variety of fishing tackle products. Our Ontario, California warehouse is home to our North American distribution center.

Compensation Range:
Base Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 year
On Target Earnings: $80,000 - $100,000 year (Base Salary + Commissions)
Summary/Objective
We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager, with a passion for the fishing industry, to expand our business. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a growing and innovative company. As a regional sales manager, you will be responsible for developing new business and maintaining customer relationships through accountability and excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manage and grow new and existing business account relationships
- Generating and developing new business accounts to increase revenue
- Ability to generate and maintain sales forecasts for assigned accounts
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding seasonal and annual sales goals
- Manage monthly sales projections and position to goals
- Must have an understanding of selling and inventory reports to develop a plan to proactively affect sales
- Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them
- Work collaboratively with product development and marketing to capture sales opportunities for existing and new products.
- Participate in regional Consumer, Buying Group and Distributor shows
- Develop work plans and be able to travel to accounts for appointments
- Provide regular feedback on product performance
- Manage Open Order reports each week with warehouse operations to ensure all orders are on time and any potential account or shipping issues are proactively resolved
- Mitigate any customer concerns, complaints, or issues, including product defects, RA’s, and territory conflicts

- Capable of preserving confidential and sensitive information
- Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Able to prospect new accounts.
- Very strong communication skills in writing and verbal.
- Good team player and able to work under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education/training that demonstrates the required knowledge and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in sales. Wholesale experience preferred
- Travel is required, to meet potential customers and open new accounts
- Be able to demonstrate independent judgment with proven success in completing projects from beginning to end.
- Must be a self-starter, solution-focused, and a proactive problem-solver
- Good phone presence and a high comfort level initiating conversation with customers is imperative
- Must have great communication and follow-through skills
- Ability to multi-task, and work well across divisions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, presentation, and merchandising skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have a positive attitude and want to be part of an entrepreneurial and team-focused environment
- Candidate must be advance and well versed in fishing and fishing tackle (required)
